Teletherapy Jobs FAQ
Who are our teletherapists?
Our teletherapists are a talented nationwide network of independent professionals who bring skills, talent, and experience to help schools and districts provide direct services to their students. Our teletherapy jobs include speech therapists, physical and occupational therapists, as well as mental health professionals like school psychologists and social workers.
Can I watch a video about what you do?
Yes! You can watch a video that explains how we work here.
What is the opportunity for me as a therapist?
E-Therapy’s therapists – we call them E-Therapists – are independent clinicians and mental health professionals who outsource their expertise to schools and districts in need of online engagement for their students. You have the freedom to choose the “clients” and the schedule that works best for you. Keep in mind that students have sessions usually during the school day. Some schools may have summer sessions to implement compensatory services.
What if becoming an E-Therapist isn’t for me? Can I apply for a job with E-Therapy?
Of course, we have employment opportunities for other business-related roles. Check them out on the E-Therapy Indeed page. It’s a different process, so be sure to apply from there and not our Join E-Therapy page.
How do I get started becoming an E-Therapist?
It’s easy. If you haven’t already, click on Become an E-Therapist on our homepage. Once you submit that form, you’ll receive an email acknowledging receipt, usually within 72 hours. We may have a job opportunity that’s an immediate fit, or sometimes it will take a while for us to match you up with a school’s needs. You can be sure that our managers constantly review our E-Therapy network when there’s available work.
What do I need to become an E-Therapist?
For Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists you’ll need an updated resume/CV, licensure for whichever state you want to work in (Dual State Licensure is a PLUS!), a federal background check, and the set-up, passion, and enthusiasm for digital therapy sessions.
It is similar for school Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, and BCBA/ABA therapists, but you are also required to have a Master’s degree
What is required for the technical set-up to be an E-Therapist?
How do you determine if there is a fit or not in the E-Therapy network?
That is reliant on current opportunities that match your skills, experience, and passions. We are always bringing in new partner schools, so our needs are constantly changing.
Can E-Therapists work for other companies or schools?
Of course! As an E-Therapist, you operate your own business. You can offer your services to other clients.
If you don’t have work for me now, can I still apply?
Definitely! We keep your information on file, and as new schools or projects come up, we will reach out to see if you are interested. Check back often as well, because we are constantly providing updates to our job opportunities page. We encourage you to keep in touch by subscribing to our newsletter, and follow us on social. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
Are E-Therapists independent contractors?
Yes. Our therapists work from home as independent contractors. This model has worked well because we know our E-Therapists value the flexibility it provides.
Where do E-Therapists work?
You can work from home or in a designated space elsewhere – anywhere, as long as it’s private and quiet. If you have multi-state credentials, like some of our E-Therapists have, you can also work across time zones!
Who sets my schedule as an E-Therapist?
We have to work within the school’s schedule, but you can select what’s best for you. Many of our therapists have their own children in school, or only want to work part time, while others want a full caseload. Remember, you will be required to attend IEP meetings, conduct direct therapy sessions, and complete all school-required paperwork associated with the caseload.
How much can I earn as an E-Therapist?
Pay is dependent upon your experience, skills, and certification. E-Therapists with hard-to-find native language abilities or other unique skills can demand higher hourly rates. Your revenue is dependent on your schedule, sessions, and the type of schools which you choose to work.
Once I apply to be an E-Therapist, how long will it take before I start working?
We try our best to pair new E-Therapists with our partner schools. First, we need to:
- Find a school that’s right for you.
- Complete the agreement and onboarding.
- Verify your credentials.
- Complete your federal background check.
If I was an E-Therapist in the past, do I have to go through the application process again?
E-Therapy has been in business for 15 years, so if you go back that far, then we need to catch up! Seriously, we try to stay in touch with previous E-Therapists, just in case something interesting comes up. But if we fell out of touch, then sign up again.
What other benefits do I get from becoming an E-Therapist?
You become part of a thriving community of therapists on the cutting edge of online therapy delivery. We love to share with each other, so you are never alone. The professional growth and personal camaraderie you will experience is what makes our team so special.
