E-Therapy 2020 Recap: What 2020 Taught Us!

By Diana Parafiniuk

Whew, we are done- we were not unhappy to see the end of 2020! Boy, did it throw a few curveballs. We all know what a crazy whirlwind of a year it was and the same for us here at E-Therapy. It looks like 2021 is starting off the same- but hey, we are pros now at changing course and moving forward! It was a challenging year for business in many ways. When school administrators and special education directors were in need, we pivoted. It was a great opportunity to take a look at how we service schools and what solutions we provide for online learning and therapy. E-Therapy has been an industry leader in providing teletherapy services to schools and districts for the last 11 years. So when COVID surprised us and online schooling became necessary across the country – we felt prepared to provide teletherapy and related services to schools across the country. The unknown is a scary place to be. E-Therapy recognized that some of our schools didn’t even know about online therapy and the solutions we provide., and we want to help ease the burden for schools. We know that distance learning or face-to-face learning is decided upon on a weekly basis and can change at the drop of a hat.  Therapists are even having to deal with technical issues, parent questions, adjust their schedule and the most important thing is to make sure they are providing therapy services online that work for their students.Without giving away all of our secrets, we are now happy to assist schools and districts with service-related solutions that have taken off and are rated one of the best by schools all over. Being ahead of the curve is a great place to be –  which was hard in 2020.Another of our biggest challenges was how to support the mental health of not only our staff but client school’s staff. Burnout and mental health have been a big focus, and needless to say 2020, has taken its toll on everyone. We hope that this Empower Blog has provided you with some free content that can be used in and out of schools. We knew that therapists and teachers were doubling down on the amount of work they were doing, so we created unique activities, reviewed resources, and created video tutorials. And because there is little time for self-care, our resident life coach shared actionable tips to keep you from falling apart. We can only hope that as time goes on that everyone gets the rest and relaxation that you need. E-Therapy is here to help in any way we can. Self-care is a priority and a must for all. And please make use of the loads of resources we’ve created to help make your life easier. We know these will save you time and money.

Best wishes for a safe, happy, productive 2021

One can say this year has taught us all to be independent, intentional, and to enjoy the present moment. E-Therapy has braced the change, pivoted to focus on a new path that was not ultimately seen at this time last year. We have come together as a company, helped to grow our staff, and to develop ideas, content, systems, and became even more productive in the planning and growth of our company. We knew what our clients needed and we helped to define that path to setting goals and growth. Happy 2021!
