A Few Words About E-Therapy Services

FAQ

To participate in online social work sessions, clients will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera, microphone, and internet connection. It’s also helpful to have a private, quiet space where you can participate in sessions without interruption.

Research suggests that online social work can be as effective as traditional in-person social work. Factors such as the quality of the therapeutic relationship, the skills of the social worker, and the client’s comfort with technology can impact the effectiveness of online social work.

Some benefits of online social work include increased access to services for clients who may have difficulty attending in-person sessions, greater convenience and flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to reach clients in rural or underserved areas.

Implementation depends on the needs of each individual. Speech language therapy can be done one-on-one or in a group setting. Online speech therapy is implemented using a variety of technologies such as video conferencing, teletherapy, and online therapy platforms.

Schools and families can consider teletherapy for social work in schools if students are comfortable using technology, have access to a private space for sessions, and would benefit from the convenience of remote therapy. It’s important to discuss the specific needs and goals for therapy with a social worker to determine if teletherapy is the right choice.
